Which Vatican Tour Includes St Peter's Basilica?
On the combined Vatican tours the Basilica is often a dearer option, and the card price is the option without it. Which tours include it, at what price, and from where.
Read the option, not the title. On the combined Vatican tours St Peter’s Basilica is often a dearer option, and the price on the card belongs to the option without it. Crown Tours’ Rome: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & Basilica Tour shows from $60 on promotion, usually $101 (checked November 2026) for its 2-site option, the Museums and the Sistine Chapel; its 3-site option with the Basilica was US$105 on 12 November (checked November 2026). In the calendar below, choose “Guided Tour of All 3 Sites”.
The calendar above is the Crown Tours tour, with 19,433 reviews (checked November 2026). Its four options are a 2-hour and a 2.5-hour tour of two sites without the Basilica, the 3-hour tour of all three, and all three with the Dome, about 4 hours. The 3-site options go from the Sistine Chapel straight into the Basilica.
The combined tours, option by option

| Tour | Is the Basilica in the price shown? | The Basilica option, 12 November | Starts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rome: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & Basilica Tour (Crown Tours) | No: the card price is 2 sites | US$105 for all 3 sites; US$156 with the Dome | Via Mocenigo 15 |
| Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter's Basilica Tour (Enjoy Rome) | No: the Basilica is in the 3-hour options | US$77 in a group; US$196 in a small group of at most 10 | Via Germanico 8 |
| Vatican, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter's Skip-the-Line Tour (Made in Rome Tours) | Yes, in every option | US$77 in a group of at most 20 | Via Plauto 17 |
| Vatican & St Peter's Basilica: Must-Sees in 3 Hrs (Emotion Tours) | Yes | from $111 | Viale Vaticano 100, by Caffè Vaticano |
| Vatican: Early Entry to Museums, Sistine Chapel & St Peter's (What a Life Tours) | Yes, guided in all three | from $122 | Via Santamaura 14B (the company’s own shop front) |
Option prices for one adult on an English-language tour, read in November 2026 for Thursday 12 November; the last two from their cards (GetYourGuide checked November 2026). Operators price by date and season, so treat the figures as the shape of the market, not a quote.
The trap is the same on the first two. Enjoy Rome sells five options, and the two cheapest, a Museums and Raphael Rooms tour at US$68 and a 2-hour tour of two sites at US$73 on 12 November, leave the Basilica out; its group option with the Basilica, 3 hours, was US$77 that day. Crown Tours steps from US$77 for two sites to US$105 for all three on the same date, and on 24 November the gap was wider, US$72 against US$111 for an 8:30 or 10:00 start (the US$105 price that day is a 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm start, where the Basilica is self-guided). Made in Rome Tours and Emotion Tours carry the Basilica in the price you see, so there is nothing to choose wrongly.

The Basilica without the Museums
If you have seen the Museums, or want only the church, a Basilica tour costs far less, because the Basilica itself is free: what you pay for is the guide, and sometimes the Dome.
| Tour | Includes | Price | Starts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rome: St. Peter's Basilica, Dome Climb, and Underground Tour (KK TOUR SRLS) | The Basilica and the papal tombs, 1.5 hours; the Dome in its own option | US$37, or US$48 with the Dome, 12 November | Piazza della Città Leonina 2 |
| Rome: St. Peter's Basilica, Pietà & Papal Tombs Tour (Tix & Tours) | The Basilica and the grottoes when open, 1.5 hours | from $22 on promotion, usually $45, checked November 2026 | Largo del Colonnato 5, in front of Galleria San Pietro |
| Rome: Guided Tour of St. Peter's Basilica with Dome Climb (Touriks) | The Basilica and the Dome by the stairs, 2 hours, a group of up to 25 | from $60 | Largo del Colonnato 5 |
| Rome: St. Peter's Basilica, Papal Tombs, and Dome Climb Tour (Touriks) | The Basilica, the papal tombs and the Dome by the stairs, 105 minutes | from $60 | Largo del Colonnato 5 |
Prices from the listings (GetYourGuide checked November 2026). Treat them as the shape of the market, not a quote.
Expect to queue for security on these: the Tix & Tours tour excludes skip-the-security-line access, and both Touriks tours exclude skip-the-line entry unless you pick their fast-track option. Two cheaper products are not guided tours at all. The Vatican: St. Peter's Dome Experience, Papal Tombs and Audio Tour (ROMEX TOURS SRLS) is a Dome ticket with a host and an audio guide, and excludes a live guide; the St. Peter's Basilica Entry, Audioguide & Optional Dome Climb (Rome City - Sightseeing Tour) is a hosted entry with an audio guide, and states that it is not a skip-the-line experience. The Fabbrica’s own Dome ticket, 17 EUR by the stairs or 22 EUR with the lift, also comes with an audio guide.
Where each tour starts

The combined tours meet near the Vatican Museums entrance on Viale Vaticano, because that is where they go in: Emotion Tours by Caffè Vaticano at Viale Vaticano 100, 88 m away, Crown Tours at Via Mocenigo 15, 423 m on foot, and Enjoy Rome at Via Germanico 8, 708 m. The Basilica tours meet by St Peter’s Square instead: KK TOUR SRLS at Piazza della Città Leonina 2, 247 m from the middle of the Square, and Touriks and Tix & Tours at Largo del Colonnato 5, by the Colonnade. Book a Basilica tour and a Museums ticket for the same day and you cross between the two, 915 m on foot from the Museums entrance to the Square; the Vatican Museums and St Peter’s in one day has that walk.
Wednesdays and ceremony days
The Basilica’s own pages print no weekly closure, but they warn that visitor access may be cancelled for Holy See celebrations or when a Wednesday general audience runs over. Each tour has its own rule for that. On ceremony days, Wednesday mornings among them, Crown Tours moves the Basilica to 3 pm or later, self-guided. Enjoy Rome keeps its group out of the Basilica on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, from 8:00 to 12:00, and shows other parts of the Museums instead. Brastours leaves the Basilica out of its Vatican tour on Wednesday mornings because of the papal audience, except in July and when the audience is held indoors. When the Basilica closes at the last minute for a special event, the Made in Rome Tours guide extends the tour instead.
So if the Basilica is the reason you are booking, start on a day other than Wednesday, and read the closure line on the option you pick.
